ABOUT PIGS

Pigs is Canada’s most authentic Pink Floyd Tribute.

Formed in 2008 in Victoria, British Columbia, PIGS have been amazing audiences ever since with their dynamic re-creation of one of the world’s favourite rock groups.

Experience the majesty of one of the world’s greatest bands.

Audiences lose themselves in the band’s lights and visuals, which give the music an otherworldly feel. PIGS has seven members including a backup singer and a saxophonist.

Meticulous recreation of the live sound and feel.

PIGS’ claim to fame is their authenticity, which means looking, sounding and feeling like the real Pink Floyd in their heyday: the ’70s. Audiences can expect long, pyschedelic jams to such songs as ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’ and ‘Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun’ as well as impassioned performances of emotional material like ‘Comfortably Numb’ and ‘Us and Them’.

Honouring the music of Pink Floyd.

With the passing of Richard Wright in 2008, fans of Pink Floyd lost hope of ever again seeing their favourite band re-united. PIGS offers the next best thing: an authentic look back into the breathtaking past of one of the world’s most timeless bands.

The Band

David Gilmour

Josh Szczepanowski

Josh Szczepanowski is the band’s lead-guitarist and vocalist. As the David Gilmour for PIGS, Josh is the musical director and has the final say where setlists, gear choices and stage directions are concerned.  Creating a gigantic rack unit has made him into the final boss of MIDI, but he can still wring a guitar’s neck from time to time.

Roger Waters

KC Hingley

KC Hingley is an accomplished singer-songwriter and a journeyman bassist.  Originally a member of the first PIGS lineup, KC is pleased to come back and join us when he can in our current performances.

Richard Wright

Adam Basterfield

Adam Basterfield is the man that made Pigs possible. His organ work, delicate piano playing, and encyclopedic knowledge of all things Floyd make him the perfect Richard Wright – and his soft-spoken demeanor doesn’t hurt. Adam understands how to wring every drop from each of the many keyboards he uses on stage and knows how to play even the most obscure Floyd tunes.

Nick Mason

Mike Quirke

Mike Quirke comes from a long tradition of jam bands and is a constant crowd-pleaser with roto-tom solos and dead accurate playing. He is the perfect mix of relaxed confidence and positively German precision. Mike sounds more like Nick Mason than the real thing these days.

Snowy White

Josh Weed

Unknown to few besides the most hardcore Floyd fans, excellent English guitarist Snowy White acted as the Floyd’s fifth man on their tours for Animals and The Wall, and still plays with Roger Waters to this day. Josh Weed fills this challenging role in PIGS: a part which requires him to be adept at playing electric guitar, bass, and occasionally even keyboards.

Clare Torry

Anneda

Anneda is the band’s extremely talented backup singer. She doesn’t portray one single member of the band the way the rest of the PIGS do, but rather represents the best of everything the Floyd’s singers had to offer. Anneda also doubles as the vocal coach for Adam, KC, and Josh, and always has a big grin ready to share. She brings the house down with her incredible version of “Great Gig in the Sky” at every single show.

Dick Parry

Peter

Peter plays saxophone for Pigs, much the same way Dick Parry did for many years. He is a true showman and always gets a huge cheer.  Josh has been pushing Peter to play a few more parts to keep busy; watch for him on keys, acoustic guitar, and even bass here and there!

Quotes

The band nailed it with fury!

Chilliwack – “After a loving cover of Mother, the band delivered on their full performance (40th anniversary of the release of) Animals. Any Pink Floyd fan worth his salt recognized that the arrangements were not the exact album. It was taken from the now infamous bootleg of when, in 1977 at the Montreal Olympic Stadium, Roger Waters “lost it” while the band extended a few solos. That incident led to “The Wall”, but that’s another story…”

“The band nailed it with fury…You could almost feel the presence of the late Syd Barrett and Richard Wright.”

“While the real Pink Floyd will never come back, the next time PIGS tours, it is a must for you to see and EXPERIENCE them!” (read full review here)

and the vocals… well, if your eyes were closed, you would have a hard time telling if it were actually Roger Waters and David Gilmour, or a good tribute band, on stage…

Fort St. John – “At first, I was skeptical. I saw the ads for PIGS floating around social media, billing themselves as Canada’s most authentic Pink Floyd tribute band. But what could compare to seeing Pink Floyd in real life? My thoughts were nothing, it can’t be that good. Boy, was I ever wrong.”

“These guys nailed it….and the vocals… well, if your eyes were closed, you would have a hard time telling if it were actually Roger Waters and David Gilmour, or a good tribute band, on stage…”

“Really enjoyed it. 10/10 ” (read full review here).
